Orange to burgundy
Ginger Wine takes the appealing color palette of the native ninebark family and expands on it. In spring the first flush of leaves comes out brilliant orange, but as summer approaches the foliage matures to a lavish burgundy. Large white flowers in late spring give way to bright red seed-heads. As the fall approaches the leaves deepen to purple-red before they drop for the winter exposing the attractive peeling bark that ninebarks are known for. This plant is naturally graceful and arching and doesn’t need deadheading or pruning. It maintains its form year after year. Give Ginger Wine a sunny spot for best color and plenty of room to stretch out its roots and it will grow to a full 6’ tall in a couple of seasons. Sturdy stems and a compact upright habit make this an excellent plant in the container and the landscape
