Alfredo compact cranberry bush is a low maintenance, rounded shrub with light green foliage. White flowers appear in late spring, followed by red berries. Come fall, the foliage turns a deep burgundy and large, bright red berries appear. Birds do not particularly care for the fruit, so the berries often endure well into the winter months. Provide with full sun to partial shade, average soil and medium moisture. With its moderate growth rate, this shrub is perfect for the back of a border. Its solid form will create an attractive backdrop for flashier plants. Young plants will not flower, therefore no fruit, but new growth is streaked with red, still giving the plant plenty of seasonal interest.
