A medium to large-sized, fast-growing, narrow, conical evergreen with a pointed crown. Needles are dark green and have two distinct white stomatal bands on the underside. Cones are purplish-brown, cylindrical and oblong that grow upright on branches and disintegrate at maturity after releasing their winged seeds. Grows best in full to partial sun and in rich, acidic, well-drained soil. This variety is known for its tolerance to warmer climates compared to other fir species. Primarily used as a Christmas tree or for ornamental landscaping.
