A medium- to large-sized, fast-growing evergreen with a narrow, conical form and a pointed crown. Needles are dark green with two distinct white stomatal bands on the underside.

Cones are purplish-brown, cylindrical to oblong, and grow upright on the branches before disintegrating at maturity to release their winged seeds.

Performs best in full sun to partial shade and prefers rich, acidic, well-drained soil. This variety is known for its greater tolerance to warmer climates compared to other fir species.

Primarily used as a Christmas tree or for ornamental landscape plantings.
