A moderate to fast-growing, medium-sized conifer, conical to columnar in shape, developing an open-rounded, irregular crown as it matures. Needles are short, stiff, serrated and usually twisted with a flattened surface, blue-green in color, arranged in fascicles of two. Cones are ovoid-conic, green, then gray-green to yellow-brown at maturity, scales bearing a flat to pyramidal apophysis with small prickle on the umbo. Does best in rich, moist, well-drained soil and full sun. Commonly used as a Christmas tree or a specimen tree in home or park landscapes.

When ordering tray material, any 38 Ct and 50 Ct Evergreen Gro Plugs or 18 Ct cell liner trays, the order quantity must be in full tray increments.

Example
  • 7 trays of 50 Ct Gro Plugs would be 350 plants on the order line.
  • 5 trays of 18 Ct trays would be 90 plants on the order line.

All bare root birch single stem must be ordered in increments of 10.
