PINE BOSNIAN

Twigs are glaucous in their first year, maturing to brown over time. The bark is thick and ash-gray, flaking to reveal yellow patches and eventually forming large, rugged plates. Branching is whorled, with upward-curving limbs, especially on younger trees.

Foliage consists of thick, stiff, sharply pointed green needles borne in fascicles of two and arranged densely along the twigs. Needles are long-lasting, typically remaining on the tree for 2 to 6 years. Buds are brown, non-resinous, and relatively large.

Pollen cones are bright yellow and produced in dense clusters at the base of new shoots. Seed cones develop in clusters of two to four on short stems, maturing to an oval form with thin scales that open when ripe. Seeds are small and winged.

Adaptable and durable, Bosnian Pine is well suited for a variety of landscape applications, valued for its rugged character, strong structure, and reliable performance.
