A slow to moderately growing, medium-sized, evergreen conifer with a classic, narrowly conical to pyramidal shape. Needles are dark yellow-green, four-sided and curved, with a sharp point, extending from all sides of the twig. Cones are pendulous, cylindrical and glossy red-brown with stiff scales. Thrives in cool, moist climates, full sun to partial shade and acidic, well-drained soil. Used in landscaping as an accent tree, windbreak or screen.
