Developed by North Dakota State University, Emerald Flare® Tianshan is a distinctive birch selection with a narrowly pyramidal form, ideal for adding strong vertical interest to the landscape. Attractive white exfoliating bark, accented with subtle gray and orange undertones, provides exceptional year-round appeal.
Medium emerald-green foliage remains clean and attractive throughout the growing season before turning a bright golden-yellow in fall. Emerald Flare® Tianshan demonstrates excellent resistance to birch leafminer and leaf spot, while also tolerating drought and higher pH soils without chlorosis.
Performs best in full sun to very light shade and well-drained soil. Mulching and supplemental watering are recommended during extended dry periods or in exposed landscape sites.
An excellent choice for specimen plantings and limited-space landscapes where durability, ornamental bark, and a strong upright habit are desired.

When ordering tray material, any 38 Ct and 50 Ct Evergreen Gro Plugs or 18 Ct cell liner trays, the order quantity must be in full tray increments.
Example
- 7 trays of 50 Ct Gro Plugs would be 350 plants on the order line.
- 5 trays of 18 Ct trays would be 90 plants on the order line.
All bare root birch single stem must be ordered in increments of 10.
