A large, fast-growing evergreen conifer with a pyramidal shape, tall, straight trunk, slightly upturned primary branches and secondary branches becoming pendulous as the tree matures. Needles are quadrangular in cross-section and dark green on all four sides with inconspicuous stomatal lines. Cones are the longest of any Spruce and have bluntly to sharply triangular-pointed scale tips, green or reddish when young, maturing brown. Thrives in cooler, northern climates, full sun and well-drained, acidic soil. Popular choice for ornamental landscaping, particularly as a windbreak due to its dense foliage and ability to create natural barriers.
Note: Many of our customers use Norway Spruce for grafting rootstocks. Our liners develop a large cambium layer that make for successful grafts. A one year from seed Gro-Plug® can be potted into an 18 CT liner, grown on for a season, then grafted.

When ordering tray material, any 38 Ct and 50 Ct Evergreen Gro Plugs or 18 Ct cell liner trays, the order quantity must be in full tray increments.
Example
- 7 trays of 50 Ct Gro Plugs would be 350 plants on the order line.
- 5 trays of 18 Ct trays would be 90 plants on the order line.
All bare root birch single stem must be ordered in increments of 10.
