A slow- to moderately growing, medium-sized evergreen conifer with a classic, narrowly conical to pyramidal shape.
Needles are dark yellow-green, four-sided, and slightly curved, with sharp points extending from all sides of the twig. Cones are pendulous, cylindrical, and glossy red-brown, with stiff scales.
Thrives in cool, moist climates and performs best in full sun to partial shade with acidic, well-drained soil.
Well suited for use as an accent tree, windbreak, or screen in the landscape.
