A small- to medium-sized, slower-growing, dense geographic variant of White Spruce. Symmetrical and pyramidal in shape, it features ascending branches and a strong central leader.
Needles are blue-green, stiff, and pointed, with a quadrangular (four-sided) cross-section. Cones are slender, cylindrical, and pendulous, with thin, flexible scales that are rounded at the edges. They emerge green or reddish and mature to a pale brown.
Prefers full sun to light shade, moist, well-drained soil, and good air circulation, especially in humid conditions. A popular choice for ornamental plantings, privacy screens, and windbreaks.
